The hardcore supporter of Syrian President Bashar Al Assad and the online hacktavist Syrian Electronic Army has made an attempt to hack a number of high profile websites-including Yahoo, Amazon, Facebook and Google-by hacking into the domain management service provider MarkMonitor.
It seems as if MarkMonitor was able to block Syrian hackers from causing huge damage. However, according to a screenshot posted by the SEA on their official Twitter account shows that the group successfully breached and gain access to MarkMonitor admin panel designated for Amazon, Facebook, Google and Yahoo.

Hackers also claimed that it had updated the nameserver information to hijack domain, but the process had to be abandoned because it was "taking too much time..." whereas, Facebook spokesperson did confirm that the website's domain record email contact information had been changed.
