Hi Guys on
Sticky Tuts, today I’m going to talk about the colors of the usb inserts.
The Colors
that can be found in USB ports does not exist without reason, these colors tell
us some information about the technical specifications of the port. The dark
gray insert which is prevalent in all computers stating that the technical
specifications for that port is a port of 2.0 or 1.1 version, and this port is
only compatible with devices that carry this version, which may be found
written on the packaging of the devices, which we buy, like mouse keyboard, USB
disks, printers etc.
The other
color is yellow color means that you can charge your devices from this insert even
in the case if the computer is locked or in the Sleep mode so you can use this
port in computers in order to charge your phone or iPod ... keep in mind that
the technical name for this port is “Always power on”.
Blue: It is
another color that can be encountered in the computers, and means that the port
belongs to the 3.0 USB version which is the latest thing that can be found in the
markets, it passes data with high-speed which depends to the compatibility of
the device that you will link it with the port.
Which means
that in order to pass data with high speed between 3.0 port and the device it must
be a device has also of 3.0 USB version you can also connect devices with version
2.0 with 3.0 port without problems.
